Small changes can make a big difference. Our clients wanted to update their space to reflect their modern taste, but keep the familiar layout. They embraced a darker finish in the cabinetry and accented it with modern white picket backsplash tiles for a clean finish.
Before
For this project, we planned on a few subtle upgrades to elevate this kitchen to the next level. The island was traded in for a new peninsula allowing easier access to and movement around the fridge. Our clients also wanted to add conveniences like a spice pullout, as well as rollouts in their pantry for easy access.
The cabinetry, which sat at an awkward height, was brought flush to the ceiling. Matching framing was added to the windows to integrate them more cohesively with the rest of the kitchen.

This kitchen is a demonstration in elegance of restrained styling. The yellow tones of the walls, countertops, and floor that lent a dated air to the kitchen have been replaced with clean tones of white and grey. The cool grey quartz countertops reflect the natural light and add polish to the kitchen, mediating between the white backsplash and darker grey floor tiles.
The flat paneled matte black cabinetry is equipped with matching understated black hardware and soft close technology. The light rails mounted under the cabinetry balance the dark colouring. Each little detail coming together to elevate this design into a whole greater than its parts.
